On Friday, January 11, the air temperature in the capital rose to +2.8°C, making this the warmest day of the winter. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading employee of the Phobos weather center.

“Today in Moscow was the warmest day of this winter. During the day, the air at the VDNKh base station warmed up to plus 2.4 degrees, and in the center of the capital on Balchug the station recorded plus 2.8 degrees, ”said the forecaster.

He added that this is above the March daily norm, which is equal to 1.5 degrees Celsius. The current temperature corresponds to the third decade of the first month of spring.

Earlier, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand promised Muscovites warm weather on Valentine's Day, which is celebrated on February 14. According to him, in the European part of Russia it will be seven to ten degrees above the norm due to the movement of cyclones. He urged residents of the capital to be careful, as the warming will provoke sleet and wet snow from the roofs.
