In Chelyabinsk, a case was opened on unreliable Mazda advertising

The Chelyabinsk OFAS Russia opened a case against the advertiser LLC Ural Technical Center, according to the department's website. The anti-monopoly officials considered that the billboard with Mazda advertising installed on the Sverdlovsky tract was misleading consumers.

The billboard depicts a Mazda CX-5 with the caption, “Easy buy on special terms. On credit from 2.5%.

The local OFAS found that the specified interest rate within the framework of lending can be obtained by the consumer with participation in two additional programs, however, under standard lending terms, the rate is 5.5%.

“This essential information about the fulfillment of the conditions for obtaining a credit rate of 2.5% is made in small print, unreadable without the use of special tools. At the same time, attractive information is printed on an advertising billboard in large print. Since essential information about the conditions of the acquisition is not available for consumers to read, it is equated to missing, ”the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service for the Chelyabinsk Region reported.

According to the law, the absence of a part of essential information about the advertised product, about the conditions for its purchase or use is not allowed in advertising, if the meaning of the information is distorted and consumers are misled, the department added.

Earlier it was reported that in the US, hundreds of Mazda owners experienced a multimedia system failure: it was stuck on the 94.9 FM wave, which broadcasts the local public radio station KUOW-FM.
