The Russian Ambassador spoke about the report of the French delegation of scientists on Sputnik V

Russian Ambassador to France Alexei Meshkov said that the report of French experts on the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine had been shelved, RIA Novosti reports.

“The first foreign delegation that came to Russia a year and a half ago after the Sputnik V vaccine was created was the delegation of the French research institute Pasteur,” he recalled.

According to Meshkov, when the delegation returned to France with a good report on the Russian vaccine, the results were "shelved."

“I don’t know what is more important here: some economic interests or some kind of politics,” the diplomat added.

Earlier, the representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Russia, Melita Vujnovic, announced progress in registering Sputnik V.

The Sputnik V vaccine has been approved in 71 countries with a total population of 4 billion people, which is 50% of the world's population. By the number of approvals received by state regulators, this drug ranks second in the world.
