A resident of the United States was rescued after she swam in the lake on a mattress for two days, reports Complex.

According to media reports, the incident occurred in Oklahoma. A woman and her boyfriend tried to use a mattress as a raft to get to a boat on Lake Texoma, but things didn't go according to plan.

“A man appeared at a house near the lake, wet and cold, and reported the missing woman, allegedly she was carried away by the current,” the police said in a statement.

The woman was discovered thanks to a train passing along the lake. Guide Christian Sosa and engineer Justin Luster saw the American lying on the surface of the water waving her hand.

“She asked for help, we knew right away that she was probably injured,” Christian said.

The men called the police and reported where they saw the woman. Officers arrived at the scene 15 minutes later. Lost was conscious, but her limbs were in the early stages of hypothermia. Later, an ambulance took the American to the hospital, where she is still being treated.

Earlier, another man survived by swimming in the open sea for more than a day after the tsunami.
