People's Deputy of Ukraine Oleksandr Trukhin, who caused an accident in a drunken state, whose guilt the State Bureau of Investigation could not prove for five months due to opposition from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, was expelled from the ruling Servant of the People party, the Strana UA portal reports.

People's Deputy provoked an accident in Kiev, August 23, 2021. Despite the resonant situation - Luciano Luci, the head of the referee committee of the Ukrainian Football Association, was injured in the accident, and Trukhin himself was drunk - materials from many Ukrainian online publications were deleted after some time.

Later, a video from the chest camera-recorder of offenses of a Ukrainian police officer got into the network. The footage shows that Trukhin offered a bribe to a police officer for allowing him to leave the scene of an accident and promising to “talk” to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Denis Monastyrsky. Also on the video is a questioning of a witness who confirmed that Trukhin was driving at the time of the accident.

According to Strana UA and Ukrainian journalist Anatoly Shariy, the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine could not charge Trukhin due to opposition from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. During his press conference, Zelensky tried to avoid the issue of the criminal case against Trukhin.

However, today, according to the statement of the speaker of the Servant of the People party Yulia Paliychuk, Alexander Trukhin was expelled from the party by the decision of the chairman of the Servant of the People Olena Shulyak.

“The party also calls on the Servant of the People faction in the Verkhovna Rada to convene a meeting as soon as possible and consider the incident involving Alexander Trukhin to make a decision,” Shulyak said.

Earlier, a criminal case was opened against a deputy of the Rada who met with Lukashenka.
