The OP commented on the idea of subsidizing Russian video game developers on the theme of the Second World War

Sergey Grebennikov, Deputy General Director of RAEC, a member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, told why, in his opinion, it is important to support Russian developers of patriotic video games.

“Subsidizing Russian developers is a very true story. In addition, these are games about the Great Patriotic War, about heroes. Modern youth do not know those heroes, thanks to whom the victory in the Second World War was won. It's not a problem of education, it's just that time passes.

Through games, it is very interesting to convey information that will be provided in a form that is understandable and attractive to young people,” Grebennikov noted.

A member of the OP expressed the hope that negative hype will not be raised on this topic.

“I would not want someone to start raising a hype about the fact that some people lose in the game and others win. It is important to strike a balance here. If we are making a war game about the Second World War, we need to understand that there will be an enemy who can sometimes win. Let's hope that any communities will not scream that there can be no such end in the game. This is a virtual space in which there can be a lot,” he said.

Grebennikov added that in other countries, the state actively supports the creation of patriotic video games.

“I am very glad that the Internet Development Institute will support not only the creation of text, audio and video content, but also the development of patriotic games, which we really lack. In other countries, they are actively talking about their heroes. For some reason, we are embarrassed to be proud of the achievements that we have. I really hope that this will be fixed, ”he concluded.

Earlier it became known that the state intends to allocate grants to Russian IT companies for the development of video games about the Great Patriotic War, famous intelligence officers and special forces.
