Coronavirus patients should eat food that promotes the synthesis of antibodies in the body. This was announced to Izvestia by the scientific director of the Federal Research Center for Nutrition and Biotechnology, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Viktor Tutelyan.

“Both the sick and those who have recovered require at least 400, and preferably 500-600 grams of fresh vegetables and fruits per day. This is basic support, ”the specialist noted.

He also recommended not to consume a large number of sweets that depress the immune system, salty foods, sausages. Tutelyan also called for avoiding spicy foods to calm the gastrointestinal tract.

“It is necessary to focus on sparing food subjected to fermentation in order to facilitate the absorption of substances necessary for cells as much as possible. For example, eat sauerkraut. If the intestinal microflora is disturbed, eat fermented milk products, ”the academician explained.

Earlier, doctor and TV presenter Alexander Myasnikov said that nuts could be suitable for self-strengthening immunity in the fight against COVID-19. According to him, this product affects C-reactive protein and reduces inflammation in the body.

Nutritionist, doctor of medical sciences Margarita Koroleva advised to use animal fats during the spread of the “omicron” strain of coronavirus. She explained that in the composition of the alveolar apparatus of the lung tissue there is a surfactant, 90% consisting of saturated fats. Such a mixture of substances affects gas exchange and oxygen saturation of the body.
