Deputies of the State Duma and senators from United Russia have prepared a bill providing for an increase in the fine for hookers. The government has already given its positive feedback on this initiative. The State Duma plans to consider the corresponding bill on February 15, Izvestia writes.

According to the publication, the State Duma in the middle of this month will adopt in the first reading the bill "On Amendments to Article 11.17 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation." The document proposes to raise the fine by 40 times for illegal boarding or disembarking while the train is moving, driving on the steps, roofs of wagons and other places not intended for this, as well as unauthorized stopping of the train.

The authors of the initiative, including Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Sergei Neverov, head of the Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption Vasily Piskarev and other high-ranking senators and deputies from United Russia, propose to increase it from 100 to 2-4 thousand rubles. As noted, the size of the fine for such an offense has not changed for 20 years.

One of the authors of this document, Anatoly Vyborny, deputy chairman of the Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption, confirmed that the legal department of the lower house of the State Duma had already come out in support of the bill. As the deputy pointed out, catching accounts for more than 36% of cases of injuries to adolescents in railway transport.

“Increasing the fine by 40 times is the most effective measure, because now, by and large, there is no responsibility. 4 thousand rubles against 100 is a completely different amount, ”he said.
