A failure occurred in the operation of the Electronic Moscow platform, which led to the suspension of vehicle registration and the issuance of driver's licenses by the traffic police. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the Moscow Interior Ministry.
“Due to a failure in the operation of the electrical systems of JSC Electronic Moscow, on the platform of which the data processing center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia is located, the functioning of the unified information and analytical system for supporting the activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, which includes the service of special software for the federal information system of the State Traffic Inspectorate, was disrupted”, — explained in the department.
Now, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the work of the main components of the traffic police information system has been restored. However, due to the fact that electricity is supplied according to the backup scheme, it is impossible to launch one of the components of "Electronic Moscow" and thereby carry out a full range of checks provided for by the regulations for the provision of public services.
Since January 10, there have also been problems with the online services of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Russian Federation. Shortly after motorists from different regions of the country complained about them, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs explained the failure by updating “applied software to bring the hardware and software complex in line with safety requirements.”
On January 11, the official website of the traffic police started working as before. Services for checking traffic fines and their online payment were not available for about a day.
The last time a failure in the traffic police system was recorded in mid-December. Then the traffic police postponed the issuance of driver's licenses and registration of cars. The cause of the problems was called a utility accident - the servers were flooded with water.
