In second place are tumors of the central nervous system: the brain and spinal cord, followed by neuroblastoma — tumors of bones and soft tissues, kidneys, and hepatoblastoma. The least common are thyroid cancer, melanoma, and pancreatic cancer.

“There are certain features of the distribution of oncological diseases by age groups - for example, the most common malignant tumor in children under one year old is neuroblastoma. Leukemias are common in preschool age, and lymphomas and sarcomas are common in adolescence,” Naumova said.
