Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on awarding the Orders of Courage to six mine rescuers who worked at the Listvyazhnaya mine in the Kemerovo region. The document is published on the official portal of legal information.

Five mine rescuers were posthumously awarded orders - Alexander Anikin, Evgeny Zemtsev, Andrei Nazarov, Oleg Nosanchuk, Alexei Rylov. Also, the award was given to Alexander Zakovryashin, who was considered dead in the mine, but he was found alive the next day.

The decree states that the rescuers were awarded for "courage and bravery shown in the line of duty in extreme conditions."

Earlier it was reported that a monument to the dead miners at Listvyazhnaya will be erected in Kuzbass.

The tragedy at Listvyazhnaya happened on November 25. More than 100 people were injured, 51 died - in terms of the number of victims, it became the largest emergency in Russian mines over the past 11 years. Several criminal cases were initiated on violation of safety, negligence and abuse of authority, the management of the mine, the chief engineer, the head of the emergency site, and two employees of Rostekhnadzor who conducted inspections at the enterprise were arrested.
