According to the press service of the Metropolitan Police, the citizen wanted to get a mark on the examination sheet that he had successfully passed the practical exam for rights. He offered 25,000 rubles in the office of the inspector. Despite the fact that he was repeatedly warned about the illegality of such proposals, and also reminded that they face criminal liability, he did not abandon his intentions and nevertheless transferred the money. After that, he was detained by security officers of the Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Department of Internal Affairs for the Southern Administrative District of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Moscow.

A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of giving a bribe to an official for committing obviously illegal actions. Part 3 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code provides for liability for this in the form of a fine of up to 1.5 million rubles, or in the amount of thirty to sixty times the amount of the bribe, or imprisonment for up to eight years.
