Russia (bbabo.net), - The Investigative Committee has completed the investigation of the criminal case against the former rector of the Gorno-Altai State University. He is accused of abuse of office and official forgery.
According to the investigation, during the admission campaign in 2020, the rector realized that the university would not be able to fulfill the state order for admission to the university for state-funded places. At the same time, the shortage of applicants threatened to reduce the funding of the educational institution. Subsidies for the implementation of the state order would have to be returned to the budget. And the rector's management could consider him incompetent and poorly coping with the performance of official duties.
- The rector of the university deliberately, acting out of a different personal and selfish interest, instructed his subordinates to deliberately distort the results of exams, - said the representative of the IC in the Republic of Altai Olesya Todokova.
Investigators believe that changes were made to the test forms of entrance examinations of applicants who did not score the required number of points. As a result, 30 applicants who did not pass the competitive selection were illegally enrolled in the Gorno-Altai State University.
The assignment was completed. The university received a subsidy of 4 million rubles. However, as a result of inspections by the prosecutor's office and the FSB, frauds were uncovered.
As noted in the UK, the ex-rector of the university fully compensated for the damage.
