Russia (bbabo.net) - On the evening of February 15, Gennady Shakirov, deputy head of the city's Department of Roads and Transport, was detained in Ulyanovsk, the press service of the regional Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reports.

A municipal official is suspected of committing a crime under paragraph "b, c" part 5 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe by an official for illegal actions with extortion of a bribe on a large scale). A criminal case has been initiated.

According to investigators, Shakirov regularly received bribes from one of the private carriers in Ulyanovsk. From April 2021 to February 15 of the current year, the deputy head of the department received 50 thousand rubles a month from the entrepreneur. At the time of his arrest, he immediately received 100 thousand rubles - for December and January. The total amount of funds received is one million rubles.

Now Shakirov is in a temporary detention facility. The measure of restraint against the official will be chosen on February 17.
