Andrey Pozdnyakov, an infectious disease doctor, candidate of medical sciences, chief physician of the clinical diagnostic laboratory of Invitro-Sibir LLC, said that regions and large cities can refuse restrictions related to coronavirus if more than 80% of the population is immunized. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

“If some large-scale studies confirm the presence of antibodies in more than 80% of the population of a region or city, then restrictions can really be lifted there,” the doctor said.

Earlier, Andrey Sarana, First Deputy Committee for Health of St. Petersburg, said that the city had achieved 100% collective immunity to coronavirus infection.

Before that, it was reported that in St. Petersburg, restrictions on coronavirus will be softened from February 21. Thus, the work of restaurants, cafes, circuses, concert halls and cinemas will be extended until two in the morning.

The day before, Dmitry Lisovets, chairman of the St. Petersburg Health Committee, said that the number of patients with coronavirus who are under medical supervision is decreasing in the city.
