Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting on economic issues that the message to the Federal Assembly is not just a monologue of the head of state to the Russians, TASS reports.

“The message to the Federal Assembly is not just a speech by the head of state to the country, to the people and the promise of some kind of gingerbread, additional benefits and solutions to social problems in the broadest sense of the word,” Putin explained.

According to him, it is necessary to demonstrate the multi-vector development of Russia, including the economic component and the database to increase the living standards of people.

Putin stressed that one of the most important issues facing the state is the fight against poverty.

Earlier, the President of the Russian Federation announced the start of a series of meetings to prepare his message to the Federal Assembly.

Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov reported that Putin's message to the Federal Assembly will take place in early 2022, preparations for the event conceptually began in December.

In his last address to the Federal Assembly, Putin paid special attention to socio-economic problems, promised to give a harsh and asymmetric response to any provocations against Russia, drew attention to the problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and announced a number of new payments for Russians. The appeal to the Federal Assembly lasted 1 hour and 20 minutes.
