The Federation Council is preparing a bill expanding the list of illegal content on the Internet, which is blocked out of court. In particular, it is supposed to ban radical feminism and childfree propaganda. However, there is no unity in the Russian parliament regarding these innovations. Feminist Tatyana Sukhareva said that she was preparing an appeal against the adoption of this bill.

“Unhealthy sexual relations”

“We are working together with Roskomnadzor on a bill to expand the list of topics of destructive content to be blocked. Now the project is being coordinated in the department, ”one of the authors of the bill, Senator Margarita Pavlova, told RIA Novosti.

According to her, new content has appeared on the Internet, which does not yet fall under the definition of illegal. However, Pavlova believes that he carries a threat and is gaining strength.

“Under the guise of women's rights, the murders of unborn children are imposed and promoted, including at long gestational ages.

Under the guise of protecting the violated rights of women, traditional family values ​​and the role of women in the family are denigrated - the so-called radical feminism. Under the guise of freedom of choice, the refusal to create a family and have children is promoted - the so-called childfree. Under the guise of freedom and tolerance, unhealthy sexual relations and perverted forms of cohabitation are being promoted,” the senator emphasized.

She is sure that in this situation it is important to take into account the position of the parent community and special network monitoring centers. Pavlova noted that the "threat to national security" is concentrated "on the plane of childhood", so "there is a need" for new legislative initiatives. The senator also urged to pay attention to the behavior of domestic social networks.

“I get more complaints about our social network VKontakte, which has acquired the label of “the dirtiest”. There, too, all this destructive content is present, and sometimes users, even through complaints, cannot block this or that information. All this causes great surprise, and here, I believe, we must also find a point of application of our own efforts, ”concluded the parliamentarian.

According to the current legislation, out-of-court blocking is provided for sites with child pornography, information about the ways of using drugs and the illegal sale of alcohol, suicidal information, calls for riots, expressions of disrespect for society, the state and its symbols, inciting minors to illegal actions.

However, Roskomnadzor denied that they were working on a new bill.

“Roskomnadzor did not receive these proposals. In case of receipt, they will be considered in the prescribed manner, ”the ministry said to Podim.

Another member of the Federation Council, Lyudmila Narusova, said in an interview with the Rise newspaper that she opposes the ban on childfree and radical feminism. She believes that the parliament has already “stamped out laws” on such prohibitions, and out-of-court decisions on them are unconstitutional.

“Content is intellectual property, and if there is a ban on this type of property, then it must be a judicial, motivated ban. But simply with a stroke of the pen of an official, such issues are not resolved. I am conceptually against extrajudicial bans,” the parliamentarian stressed.

Narusova also doubts that radical feminism denigrates traditional family values ​​and the role of women in the family. According to her, if traditional family values ​​allow "wife beating", then this cannot be defended.

Adoption of the bill on including radical feminism and childfree in the list of illegal content will declare 80% of women outlawed, Tatyana Sukhareva, chairperson of the Women's Voice NGO, is sure.

That is, I am obliged to do what can be harmful to my health. I have to listen to who I can live with, how I can live... I think that now we need to combine all efforts. Because if this bill is passed, it will outlaw 80% of the female population and 30% of the male population. He will outlaw most of the country ... It's just a shame, ”the feminist was indignant.

According to Sukhareva, it "hurts" her that a woman suggested such an initiative. She regards this as a "betrayal".

The State Duma also urged not to rush to ban childfree and radical feminism. The head of the State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children, Nina Ostanina, said that she only supported the initiative of the Federation Council to equate materials about unhealthy sexual relations with prohibited content.

“Any sexual deviations that are being promoted on social networks today, we must ban. The ones that really take the form of propaganda. We have already created a working group, which includes people who are also interested in protecting the morality of our youth in our society. Therefore, I understand what is at stake in this case, ”said the deputy.

She also fears that a ban on childfree content could lead to a ban on abortion in the future. This, in turn, can provoke women to clandestine abortions.

“As for radical feminism, this concept is vague. I think there is no need to rush into this. We now have European trends, when radical feminism can be attributed and accused of harassment, relatively speaking, when a man opens the door, gives flowers and so on. I take these statements with caution. You see, when it comes to calling for suicide, here I agree with everything. But this sphere is sensitive, subtle.
