A drug cartel in Mexico is forcing new gang members to commit cannibalism, according to the Daily Mail.

According to the media, one of the members of the Jalisco cartel ate the heart of the person he killed, spreading footage on the network. It is reported that in this way the gang intimidates their enemies, increasing the sphere of influence, and this is also part of the training that recruits undergo.

“You need to eat it in front of the boss, the main thing is that you don’t vomit, otherwise you will be beaten,” said a former gang member.

Those who break the rules and refuse to cannibalize are known to be brutally killed in front of other members of the cartel.

“If recruits show fear and make mistakes, they become prey to other trainees who dismember, decapitate, and then eat them,” former police officer Mike Vigil added.
