Every fifth Russian does not chip in gifts for colleagues

Job search service VK Jobs and service Yula found out how much colleagues are willing to spend on gifts by February 23 and March 8 and whether the cost of the present depends on the position of the employee. The relevant study is available.

It turned out that if employees donate money for gifts to colleagues, the majority (44%) prefer to donate 500 rubless. Another 23% donate from 500 to 1 thousand rubles, and 21% prefer not to spend money on gifts for colleagues at all. At the same time, 60% noted that the amount of expenses should not increase in proportion to the position of the employee.

When asked whether it is necessary to congratulate all colleagues on gender holidays, more than a third of respondents (37%) answered in the affirmative. However, 30% believe that it is worth pleasing only those who work directly in their unit or department.

Every fifth person is sure that gifts should be purchased by the leader. And 81% emphasized that the amount of the gift does not depend on the position of its recipient and, most importantly, that the person likes it.

According to Yula's analysts, by February 23, users of the service most often buy handmade gifts - these include gift sets, edible bouquets, balloons and gift wrapping. This category of goods accounted for almost half of all sales by February 23 last year. The second most popular category was men's wardrobe accessories (10%) — watches, ties and wallets. Also on February 23, they often search for electronics (smartphones and headphones) - 5% and care products (4%).

At the same time, the popular categories of gifts for March 8 are different: for the holiday, people buy flowers on Yulia (most often, tulips) - they account for a quarter of all sales. The share of handmade gifts is 17% (gift sets, cosmetics, jewelry). Also in demand were mobile phones and women's wardrobe accessories (5% each).

The survey was conducted in February 2022 by VK Jobs, Yula and ResearchMe among 1,200 representatives of various professions.

Earlier, Russians were told how it is more profitable to buy gifts for gender holidays.
