Russia - On Sakhalin, they opened a case against a foreigner who did not report terrorists

Russia (bbabo.net), - A foreigner living on Sakhalin became a defendant in a criminal case because he did not inform law enforcement about his friends who were fighting on the side of a terrorist organization.

According to the materials of the investigation, the man, while chatting with acquaintances on social networks, found out that they share a religious ideology of an extremist nature. In 2015, these citizens left Sakhalin and arrived on the territory of a foreign state, where they joined the ranks of an international terrorist organization. And now they are fighting against government troops and their allies.

"The suspect, not being their close relative, did not report information about the persons committing the crime to the authorities," the regional Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee specified.

The case is being investigated under article 205.6 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (failure to report a crime). The basis for its initiation was the materials provided by the regional border department of the FSB of Russia.
