Muslims of the Middle Urals held an interfaith round table

Muslims of the Sverdlovsk region on February 16 in the administration building of the Pyshminsky city district, in the presence of representatives of the local community, held a "round table" on countering manifestations of extremism and harmonizing interethnic and interfaith relations as part of a socially significant project called "Ural is my native land", initiated by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Sverdlovsk Region (Central Muftiate).

The head of the Pyshminsky urban district Viktor Sokolov, consultant of the department of the Department of Internal Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences Pavel Suslonov, representative of the Kamensk Eparchy of the Russian Orthodox Church muftiate Abdul-Qudduss Asharin, Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan Zafar Sayidzoda and others.

The event was devoted to various important aspects of the issue of harmonization of interethnic and interfaith relations in modern Russian society, ways and means of counteracting manifestations of religious and political extremism.

For example, in his speech, Zafar Sayyidzoda gave a number of irrefutable arguments in favor of the assertions that if religion becomes politics, then it ceases to be a religion and that the Qur'anic message rejects and condemns all claims to religious exclusivity - confessional exclusivity. He stressed that the tolerant-pluralistic vision of the religious diversity of the earthly world preached by the Koran excludes any violence in matters of faith. The Tajik diplomat said that today it is time to fully restore the historical truth about the tolerant and humanistic orientation of the Koranic teachings, debunk the false stereotypes widespread in society about the cruelty and intolerance of Islam, and also actively promote the ideological disarmament of fanatics, obscurants, extremists speaking on behalf of Islam and terrorists.

The head of the Pyshminsky urban district, Viktor Sokolov, had a meaningful welcoming speech.

After the completion of the round table, its participants visited the Orthodox Church in the name of the Holy Great Martyr Paraskeva Pyatnitsa and the Ramadan mosque in the Pyshminsky district and in the urban-type settlement of Pyshma.

In the mosque, the Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan, Zafar Sayidzoda, in the presence of the head of the Pyshma urban district, Viktor Sokolov, held a sincere conversation with his compatriots living and working in the area. During the conversation, along with other important topics, the issue of building a new mosque building on Pyshma Street named after Chapaev with the support of the local administration was raised.
