The shell exploded on the territory of the Tarasovsky district of the Rostov region, one kilometer from the border between Russia and Ukraine, TASS reports citing a law enforcement source.

“The explosion occurred at 4:00 Moscow time, 300 meters from one of the households in the village of Mityakinskaya,” the source said.

According to him, local residents reported the incident to law enforcement agencies.

A source of RIA Novosti also reported about the explosion of the shell. He stated that law enforcement officers are currently working at the scene, no one was injured in the incident, and no damage was recorded either.

Earlier, the authorities of the Rostov region introduced a high alert regime in the region. The region is accepting refugees from the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, whose evacuation was announced on February 18.
