Russia - Dmitry Chernyshenko: By the beginning of the academic year, the first services of the Science domain will be launched

Russia (bbabo.net), - The first services of the Nauka domain on the Gostech platform are planned to be launched by the beginning of the new academic year. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko during the rector's symposium "Program approach to university management", which was held in Sochi. The "Science" domain will become part of the ecosystem of the new state program for scientific and technological development, which was launched in the Year of Science and Technology. According to Chernyshenko, about 1.2 trillion rubles will be allocated annually for its financing.

"The services of the Nauka domain are designed to help the researcher organize his work more efficiently. For example, to speed up the process of filing an application and the very registration of a patent for research and development," said Dmitry Chernyshenko. "They will also save time and reduce the bureaucratic burden, quickly find customers and funding, liaising with teams, securing scientific results, and gaining access to the scientific knowledge base."

Together with the head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Valery Falkov, Dmitry Chernyshenko held a strategic session at the Sirius Educational Center dedicated to the university admissions campaign. We talked about the upcoming admissions campaign and the importance of the superservice "Apply to University Online".

Chernyshenko noted that the social significance of the super service, thanks to which young people from remote settlements can apply to universities remotely, has especially increased during the pandemic.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that an Operational Headquarters has already been created in order to ensure the smooth operation of the super service in the field. Responsibility for the coordination of all work lies with the Ministry of Education and Science. In 2022, it is planned to connect at least 800 state universities and their branches to the service. There will be novelties: not only applicants for undergraduate and specialist studies in full-time and part-time forms, as was the case in previous years, but also part-time students will be able to submit documents online.

Valery Falkov, in turn, stressed that universities should be methodically and technically prepared to conduct a recruitment campaign using electronic technologies.

"More applicants are using remote formats for submitting documents. Considering this trend, we are making a universal entrance for all applicants, regardless of place of residence and form of education, through the State Services portal and developing the Online University Admissions service," the minister said. It is important to ensure its availability not only for future students, but also for universities. It is obvious that electronic admission significantly increases the load on the information systems of universities, they must be ready to provide fast work.In addition, we have expanded the possibilities of applicants in choosing areas of study - today children can apply for 10 directions at different universities. Universities also need to record this information."

In addition, Dmitry Chernyshenko and Valery Falkov toured the laboratories of the Research Institute of Medical Primatology and the All-Russian Institute of Plant Genetic Resources (VIR) named after. Vavilov.

Dmitry Chernyshenko instructed to work out the issues of creating new laboratories at the Institute of Medical Primatology and attracting an industrial partner to upgrade the greenhouse fleet at VIR named after V.I. Vavilov.
