He noted that the main idea of the author of the sculpture is to “excite the stiff public”.
According to the author of the monument, the blacksmith Andrei, he himself perceives Olechka as an image of a fellow traveler. He also noted that he would not like to advertise himself and is afraid for his work.
A few hours later, the blacksmith Andrey told the publication that the monument to Olechka was being demolished due to media attention.
“The city executive committee was the police. When I arrived, they left. They told the owner of the hotel where the young lady was staying to remove her immediately. We haven’t started arguing yet, we’ll figure out on what grounds they forbid us. In fact, I expected this, but I didn’t think that the information would reach the governor so quickly,” the blacksmith said.
Earlier in Kostroma, on Magistralnaya Street, local authorities installed a sculpture of the Snow Maiden, which was subsequently criticized by local residents.
