According to the Investigative Committee, there was a diversion - an improvised explosive device went off. As a result, three civilians were killed. Bastrykin instructed the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia to "thoroughly investigate this crime and identify all persons involved in it."
And the day before - on February 21 - the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine all day conducted massive shelling of several settlements of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics using heavy weapons and mortars. The Investigative Committee stated that as a result of a shell hit and explosion in the area of st. Markin Petrovsky district of Donetsk killed a civilian. And in the LPR, as a result of the shelling of the village of Prishib, a civilian was seriously injured.
In addition, as a result of repeated hits of shells, the Donetsk filtration station in the Yasinovatsky district was de-energized, so hundreds of houses were left without water. Even in Donetsk, the buildings of two city schools were damaged.
“By shelling settlements, Ukrainian servicemen intended to kill or cause serious bodily harm to an unlimited number of civilians living in the south-east of Ukraine and not participating in the armed conflict,” the department stressed. And they added that they opened a criminal case under article 356 of the Criminal Code "Use in an armed conflict of means and methods prohibited by an international treaty of the Russian Federation."
Another criminal case that is being investigated is the destruction of a FSB border patrol post in the Rostov Region. There is nothing left of the item. On the same day, a case was opened about the murder of a miner. He died at a public transport stop due to the shelling of the village of the Trudovskaya mine by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
