“The football club fell under the distribution along with other VEB subsidiaries according to the 50 percent rule, where the share in assets is half or more (VEB owns ¾ of the shares of PFC CSKA. -). VEB has a controlling stake in the club, therefore, it is natural that he fell under all these cases. And the consequences for him are exactly the same as for VEB.
With regard to football players, they do not conduct commercial activities, do not give loans, are not associated with export lending, so it is clear that the first and main consequence is the complication of financial activities.
VEB will have to choose - either look for other, additional sources of financing, mostly domestic, because money from world markets cannot flow, or revise the terms of ownership, reduce its share in this asset, or even transfer it to some third party.
I think that this process will take a long time, but the immediate consequences are the deterioration of the financial situation. Here it will be necessary to insure the club's finances by attracting other channels of financial assistance, other sponsors, other owners.
For this, there is the Union (Russian Football Union (RFU). -), which will not leave the club, and a large number of team fans among Russian business. But here we will have to look, because this is only the first tranche of sanctions. It is not clear to whom this will be extended in the future.
As long as it is. VEB has difficulties in conducting its own activities, problems in its financial position. CSKA does not have the opportunity to enter commercial activities, well, except for advertising, for example, but this is a drop in the ocean, ”said Maslennikov.
Recall that the US Department of the Treasury banned the state corporation VEB, which is the main sponsor of CSKA, to operate in the country and froze the company's assets that are under their jurisdiction. Now the state corporation owns ¾ of the shares of the Moscow club.
