“There is little data about him, so it is impossible to unequivocally answer the question of what kind of danger he poses,” the scientist specified.

Cherkashina added that most likely the properties of the new strain will be determined by mutations in the S-protein, which are responsible for the infectivity and ability of the virus to enter the cell. According to her, there is a high probability that this option will be very similar to Omicron.
