The sounds of explosions are heard in Donetsk from the airport, RIA Novosti reports from the scene.

Earlier, the authorities of the DPR called the explosion near the television center in Donetsk a terrorist act. An explosive device went off on the territory of the television center.

Acting Minister of Information of the DPR Daniil Bezsonov said that at about 0.50 there was an explosion. According to him, the explosive device was most likely self-made, without damaging elements. But the power of the explosive was enough to leave a funnel at the site of the explosion.

It is reported that the general director of the television center and journalists were in the building.

Prior to this, unknown persons attempted to assassinate the former Minister of Defense of the DPR Vladimir Kononov, the Ministry of State Security of the republic reported. As a result of two explosions, a local resident received a mine-explosive injury, Kononov himself was not injured. In the last week alone, at least six assassination attempts have been organized in the Donbass.
