Epidemiologist warned those who recovered from COVID-19 from traveling to the sea

Scientific consultant of the Competence Center of the NTI "Bionic Engineering in Medicine" of Samara State Medical University, director of the Institute of Clinical Medicine and epidemiologist Dmitry Konstantinov, told RT how long Russians who have had coronavirus should wait before going to rest at sea.

“After any infectious disease, including a new coronavirus infection, post-infectious asthenia is observed within two to three weeks. During this period, the body needs supportive, strengthening therapy, ”the specialist said.

He stressed that trips to the sea in the first place should be abandoned to patients whose course of illness was severe or extremely severe. But even those who had a mild infection, Konstantinov advised to refrain from traveling for at least a month after recovery.

He explained that the post-COVID syndrome has long-term pathological manifestations that can remain in the ill person for more than three months after recovery.

Earlier, allergist-immunologist Vladimir Bolibok advised patients after COVID-19 not to fly to hot countries, as well as to places where travel involves a long flight.
