Russia (bbabo.net), - The Union of Journalists of Russia issued a statement saying that more media outlets have recently "been under pressure to prevent the free flow of information".

"A number of countries are taking a decision to stop broadcasting Russian TV channels. There is also outright censorship in social networks," the UJR website says.

As noted in the Union, since October 2020, Roskomnadzor has identified 23 incidents related to acts of censorship by the administration of the social network Facebook. Of them:

18 cases - in relation to media accounts;

4 cases - in relation to the personal pages of citizens of the Russian Federation;

1 case - in relation to the account of the Russian delegation at the negotiations in Vienna on issues of military security and arms control.

Here are just a few examples: the blocking of the BALTNEWS account owned by MIA Rossiya Segodnya (December 4, 2020), the deletion of the page of the educational project of the RT channel "Redfish" due to violation of community norms (April 30, 2021), the deletion of the account of the first deputy chairman of the commission according to the media of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, General Director of the St. Petersburg TV channel A. Malkevich (June 30, 2021), access restriction in relation to the account of the Russian delegation at the negotiations in Vienna on military security and arms control (January 16, 2022) and other.

"The Union of Journalists of Russia declares that sanctions against journalists and the media are unacceptable. A journalist has no weapons other than a laptop or a microphone. Thanks to journalists and the media, society receives information. Some people may like the work of certain media, but others may not. But journalists should have the right to broadcast this information through the media, social networks, Telegram channels, etc. The Union of Journalists of Russia expects that Roskomnadzor will bring social networks censoring the Russian media to the responsibility provided for by law," the Union of Journalists of Russia concludes.
