This was stated to TASS by the head of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia, Mufti Albir Krganov.

Krganov also said that for eight years Russia had been patiently waiting for changes and advances in the situation around Donbass, waiting for steps towards the Ukrainian authorities, Russia "within the framework of international law, tried to correct the situation." Unfortunately, as the mufti noted, the efforts were in vain, "the fate of the people of Donbass does not bother the leadership of Western countries."

He focused on the fact that the situation began to take shape in such a way that it became a threat to Russia's national security. It even got to the point that shells reached mosques in the DPR and LPR. "But for some reason the international community does not pay attention to this," Krganov noted. "The collective West, by its actions, is simply forcing Russia to the only right decision that is taking place and with which the majority of both Russian society and the expert community agree."

The priest also said that Russian Muslims are praying for peace and harmony, so that "the Almighty will fence people off from troubles, suffering, and that there will be no more such mocking approaches towards people in the world," the mufti concluded.
