Russia (bbabo.net), - The Ufimsky District Court imposed an administrative penalty in the form of a fine of 200,000 rubles and the suspension of the laboratory, which was previously engaged in laboratory diagnosis of coronavirus at Ufa International Airport. This was reported in the press service of the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor.
According to the department, in December, when the region was trying to prevent the import and spread of the new Omicron strain, this laboratory took swabs from the nose and throat from citizens arriving in the republic and sent them to laboratories accredited in the Rospotrebnadzor system for research.
During the monitoring of strains of pathogens of coronavirus infection, positive samples for COVID-19 from the laboratories of the republic were sent to scientific institutions of Rospotrebnadzor. This was one of the first cases of the omicron strain identified, so the department paid special attention to those samples.
- Our employees contacted by phone with the woman who samples showed "omicron". She was very surprised, because she received a negative test result from the laboratory at the airport and confirmed her words with a copy of the document. On this occasion, the employees of the department conducted an epidemiological investigation and established the facts of sending the results of tests for COVID-19 to citizens with a negative result, although in fact they were found to have a particularly dangerous virus. Also, violations of the conditions for sampling, the timing of the delivery of biological material, as well as the rules for handling medical waste were revealed. It is these violations that are the cause of poor-quality and unreliable research results, the press service of the Rospotrebnadzor administration for the Republic of Bashkortostan reported.
The department emphasized that for this reason, a threat was created for the spread of coronavirus in the territory of the republic and beyond its borders, since citizens upon arrival from abroad took a test in the airport building, received a negative result and, accordingly, did not observe the isolation regime.
