State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin recalled that the law on tightening control over the circulation of weapons comes into force on March 1. He wrote about this Telegram channel.

“The new restrictions will save the lives of our citizens. Those who have medical contraindications will not be able to get weapons in their hands,” he stressed.

He also recalled that from March 1, responsibility for driving a car without a diagnostic card is also introduced. The law is aimed at those who are required to undergo technical inspection: drivers of taxis, buses and trucks, Volodin added.

Earlier, the State Duma adopted a bill to tighten control over the issuance of weapons. According to the bill, a list of medical contraindications will be introduced, under which the purchase of weapons will be prohibited. A complete list of contraindications will be compiled by the government.

It will be possible to pass a medical examination only in state hospitals at the place of registration, among the necessary examinations - a test for drugs and psychotropic drugs, as well as psychological testing. While the medical examination is taking place, previous licenses for weapons will be canceled, and the weapons themselves will be confiscated.
