Vladimir Putin chaired a meeting on strategic development and national projects. During it, the President of Russia touched upon the problems of unauthorized landfills in cities, the rise in prices for building materials and the development of tourism in the country. In particular, the President asked who in the government is specifically personally responsible for eliminating landfills and controlling price increases, as well as where the money allocated for the development of tourism has gone.

During the meeting, Putin drew attention to the problem of unauthorized landfills in Russian cities. He recalled that by the end of 2024, it is necessary to liquidate 191 such objects. It takes at least two years on average to get rid of a large landfill within the city. At the same time, for 104 landfills, as the President pointed out, there is not even design documentation for their elimination yet. Putin urged to specifically understand each object and asked the Minister of Ecology Alexander Kozlov who would decide this issue.

But at the same time, Mr President, our sand, for example, has grown by 100 percent. According to Khusnullin, it is necessary to "multiply" the control over the rise in prices, to involve the regions, the Federal Antimonopoly Service and the relevant ministries.

Putin urged not just to hold preventive talks, but to create a "control mechanism" and "direct dialogue." “You said that you are waiting for relevant information from the regions. Putin also chastised Transport Minister Vitaly Savelyev during the meeting. Starting next year, a program for the comprehensive development of public passenger transport should be launched in Russia. Putin asked if it would be possible to meet the deadline.
