Princess Charlene was a welcome contributor to the World Entrepreneur event by by Ernst & Young taking place in Monaco, and made an address on the topic of the challenges women face in aspiring to leadership positions.
“A double standard applies to women aspiring to leadership positions. They have to work harder and to prove themselves more than men for the same posts... Very early on children should learn that talent, abilities and achievements are not reserved to boys,” the Princess said.
Sport is key in empowering girls to become tomorrow’s leaders in all fields, she added, and pointed to the fact that more than 90 percent of women in top-tier positions had been active in sports during their educational years.
