“COVID-19 causes two diseases, not one. This is a banal acute respiratory disease, which cannot be treated at all, and coronavirus pneumonia with a certain mortality rate, "Myasnikov said.

According to him, COVID-19 patients suffering from acute respiratory diseases should not take certain medications, such as blood thinners, unless pneumonia is observed.

The doctor noted that reckless intake of drugs without the prescription of specialists can lead to cerebrovascular accident and gastrointestinal hemorrhage.

Myasnikov also urged not to be treated with steroid hormones, which are intended only for intubated patients.

Earlier, Myasnikov said that the appearance of shortness of breath and palpitations after a viral infection may signal the development of myocarditis.
