According to the official version, the reason was the conflict between the soldier and the girl on the basis of jealousy. The girl herself suggested that her boyfriend "went crazy." The victim's mother does not believe that her son could have been driven to such an act by a quarrel with his beloved, and is afraid of bullying. Judging by the information from the service document, which was published on the network, the incident occurred on the evening of December 15.

The report said that before hurting himself, a soldier named Ivan Shurmelev received a mobile phone to communicate with relatives. He called his mother, after which he phoned the girl with whom, according to the official version, he had a conflict "on the basis of jealousy." The girl allegedly rebuked Shurmelev for the fact that he complimented his friends eight months ago. The conscript reacted rudely, which later became the reason why he decided to punish himself.
