Igor Morokov, Ombudsman for the Rights of the Child in the Sverdlovsk Region, said that the Berezovskaya school, where the student received a slap from the teacher, was never on the list of problematic ones. A full-fledged investigation into the incident will begin on Monday, he said.

“In our history, school # 2 was not listed in terms of any conflict situations, some problems. I think that the social and pedagogical process is built there. We need one hundred percent specificity to understand the reasons and conditions. The problem here is multifactorial and multi-layered. It seems that such actions of the student are directed towards the teacher, but they can be very destructive in relation to the child himself. It is not always connected only with the school, it is not always connected with the relationship with the teacher and classmates. We will ask questions of the director and other parties to the conflict from the perspective of the child. But this does not mean that we are defending someone, ”Morokov explained.

The Ombudsman suggested that the teacher and the child could have been in a tense relationship for a long time, which developed into an acute stage.

“The topic of relations between participants in the educational process has been very, very difficult lately. We must look at the root causes of what is happening. As far as I understand, this is still a kind of apogee of what was happening, this conflict is already in an acute stage. Who is right and who is wrong - here, probably, there will be no clear definitions. The only thing I want to say is that in no case should a teacher do this. But we do not yet know what is happening, because situations that can be called "provocations" in quotation marks are happening more and more often. Our young people quickly figured out all this and exacerbate the situation, sometimes subconsciously, ”concluded Morokov.

Earlier in the town of Berezovsky, Sverdlovsk region, a teacher from one of the local schools slapped a student. According to the child's classmates, the reason for the conflict was that the boy did not return the notebook and was on the phone during the lesson. When the teacher took the notebook, he told her "give it back." In response, the woman tore up the notebook and slapped the student in the face.

The school director, in a commentary on the local public Vkontakte, stated that she knew about the incident.

“The conflict with this boy is nothing new to us. I ask everyone to calm down, we will continue to work, ”she wrote.
