As planned, the innovation will improve the service quality in summertime and help to escape heat.

Moscow subway authorities decided to provide drivers and other subway personnel – cashiers, security service employees and passengers’ mobility centre inspectors with fans during hot days.

Passengers are also supposed to be supplied with such handouts as: drinking water, wipes, and paper fans. So, if the air temperature at a subway station rises above 28 degrees, the so-called “mobile offices” will be deployed. On the racks, passengers will be able to get free cooling facilities.

Russian passengers’ union was skeptical towards the idea, since it would be uneasy or even impossible to provide all the passengers with handouts due to probable fever among those, who would want to take more fans they really need.
