Muscovites warned of surges in atmospheric pressure

The scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Roman Vilfand, said that low atmospheric pressure (733 millimeters of mercury) is predicted in Moscow on Monday, and by Tuesday it will sharply increase by 20 millimeters of mercury at once compared to Sunday. TASS reports.

“At 6:00 pm on Sunday, the atmospheric pressure was absolutely low - 723 millimeters of mercury. This is due to the fact that a deep cyclone landed on Moscow. This figure is 25 millimeters of mercury below the norm, but within 36-40 hours the pressure will immediately rise by 20 millimeters of mercury, ”said Vilfand.

He stressed that atmospheric pressure will begin to approach the norm on Tuesday and Wednesday, the norm for atmospheric pressure for the capital is 748 millimeters of mercury.

Earlier, Vilfand said that abnormally cold weather expects the European part of Russia in the coming days.

According to Vilfand, this week will be very cold. In the Northwestern Federal District, from December 20 to 25, the temperature will be below normal by 10 ° C, and in the Central Federal District in the same period - by 7 ... 12 ° C below normal, the forecaster notes.
