The State Duma urged to make December 31 a day off

Denis Kravchenko, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma's Economic Policy Committee, said that December 31 should be a day off, since Russians need to prepare to celebrate the New Year. This is reported by URA.RU.

“This is a good decision, which would be better made traditional, because we all know how December 31 is going. Journalists probably work, but at enterprises people are more often than not already waiting for their home tables. We need to prepare, meet guests and loved ones, therefore, I think that 31st, 1st, 2nd should definitely be the weekend, "says Kravchenko.

In his opinion, it is difficult to fulfill labor obligations on New Year's Eve. The State Duma deputy also admitted that in the future, December 31 will be a day off, but clarified that he does not have reliable information about this.

Earlier, State Duma deputy Fedot Tumusov suggested motivating Russians to get revaccinated by giving them an extra day off.

He noted that this approach is beneficial for employers - a vaccinated employee is more likely to not get sick.
