After an emergency at the Ruban mine in Kuzbass, a criminal case was opened

Russia (bbabo.net) - A criminal case was initiated over the incident that occurred last Sunday at the A.D. Ruban mine in Leninsk-Kuznetskiy.

The person involved in the case was a metrology engineer of the State Regional Center for Standardization, Metrology and Testing. He is suspected of having issued an official document on the compliance of the work performed and (or) services with safety requirements without actually analyzing the situation.

According to the investigation, the suspect produced a verification certificate, from which it followed that the gas-analytical multifunctional system, which the mine was equipped with, had been checked, the sensors measuring the level of hazardous gases were in good order and working properly. At the same time, the engineer did not visit the mine workings, and did not supply the test gas mixture to the sensors of the measuring channels of the system. That is, the official document was issued illegally. As a result, control of the mine atmosphere composition, determination of gas content, air-gas control were not provided, as well as aerological safety in the mine, which posed a threat to the life and health of people.

- The investigation will have to study the documentation related to the case, as well as conduct a complex of forensic examinations, - said the press service of the regional SU of the Investigative Committee. - The necessary investigative actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident continue as part of the investigation of the criminal case.

The incident at the A.D. Ruban mine took place on December 19. When inspecting one of the sections with the help of a thermal imager, heating of the side of the mine was revealed, a little later a self-heating center and an open fire were found in this place. At the moment when the temperature and carbon monoxide sensors worked in the mine, there were 128 people underground. All were promptly brought to the surface.

By order of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin, the central office of the department took control over the incident.
