More than 21.6 thousand people died in Russia in January-November 2021. About 30 thousand people were seriously injured, TASS reports, citing data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the department, a total of 1,853.1 thousand crimes have been registered in Russia since the beginning of the year, which is 2% less than in the same period last year. More than 80% of crimes are registered in cities and urban-type settlements - only 1.5 million, almost a fifth (18.6%) - in rural areas, where 345.6 thousand crimes were registered.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that an increase in registered crimes was noted in 31 Russian regions, a decrease in 54.

Earlier it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law expanding the powers of the police. According to the new law, police officers, in particular, will be able to enter apartments and other premises, if it is necessary to detain intruders "caught at the scene of a crime or hiding from it."

Also, the police will have the right to inspect "the scene of the incident, terrain, premises, vehicles, items, documents and other objects", as well as open cars, inspect citizens and vehicles, and so on.
