Gas pipeline caught fire in the Chelyabinsk region

Russia (bbabo.net) - A gas pipeline on the Chebarkul-Katav-Ivanovsk section caught fire last night. In videos shared by locals on social media, the fire looks like a powerful glow on the horizon. By this hour, the fire had already been extinguished - no one, according to preliminary information, was injured.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Chelyabinsk region, the incident happened a couple of kilometers from the village of Borovoe. At the time of the arrival of the rescuers, gas from the underground gas pipeline is flaring. The Miass garrison prevented the spread of fire to populated areas.

"The reason was depressurization. The incident will not affect consumers. Gas supply did not stop for a minute. The section was promptly shut down," Denis Volkov, head of the press service of Gazprom Transgaz Yekaterinburg, told Interfax.

Technicians and employees of the enterprise work at the scene of the accident. Gas is transported along the reserve branch. The damaged area should be replaced within 24 hours.
