A criminal case has been opened after the accident at the TPP in Ulan-Ude

The Investigative Committee for the Republic of Buryatia opened a criminal case after a fire at TPP-1 in Ulan-Ude, as a result of which city residents were left without heating in a severe frost. This was reported on the website of the regional SU of the UK.

According to the department, the fire in the electrical system in the cable compartment occurred as a result of violation of the safety requirements of Ulan-Ude heat and power plant No. 1, as a result of which large damage was caused in excess of 1 million rubles.

It is noted that a criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 217.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the requirements for ensuring the safety of objects of the fuel and energy complex").

Earlier it became known that residents of Ulan-Ude at -29 ° C were left without heat due to a fire at TPP-1. At night, a short circuit occurred in the basement of the turbine workshop of the thermal power plant. As a result, a fire occurred on an area of ​​100 sq. m. Firefighters on arrival managed to quickly extinguish the fire.

As a result of the incident, several boilers and turbine generators stopped working - they are now being repaired. In residential buildings, hot water and heating interruptions are possible. Kindergartens in some parts of the city are closed.

The head of Buryatia, Aleksey Tsydenov, announced that he would interrupt his working trip to Syria due to the accident at the TPP-1.
