The introduction of auctions for the sale of "beautiful" numbers will not be launched in Russia from January 1, 2022, as previously planned by the Ministry of Economic Development, I found out.

Initially, the draft decree on the legalization of this trade through online auctions through the State Service website was supposed to come into force at the beginning of 2021. Then, due to the complexity of the service itself, the adoption of the draft resolution was postponed for another year - until January 1, 2022. The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade reported that the document has not been adopted at the moment.

"The development of this initiative continues, at the moment the document is under interdepartmental agreement," the press service of the Ministry of Economics said.

Sources of "Gazeta.Ru" in the Cabinet confirmed that in the near future this initiative will be under development and will not be completed. In addition, Gazeta.Ru's interlocutors in the regional traffic police departments, which were supposed to coordinate with local authorities and the Ministry of Digital Security, reported about their unwillingness to work with online trading. However, this is not possible due to the lack of an appropriate regulatory framework.
