Russia - The court fined Google 7.2 billion rubles for repeated failure to delete information

Russia (bbabo.net), - The 422nd Magistrate Court of the Tagansky District of Moscow recovered 7.2 billion rubles from Google for repeated failure to delete prohibited information.

"By the decision of the magistrate of the judicial district No. 422 of the Tagansky district of Moscow in the case of an administrative offense provided for in part 5 of Article 13 .41 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation, Google LLC was found guilty ... A punishment was imposed in the form of an administrative fine in the amount of 7 221 916 235 rubles ", - said the court.

A revolving fine is the most severe punishment under the Code of Administrative Offenses "Violation of the procedure for restricting access to information, access to which is subject to restriction." Prior to that, this and other social networks were assigned single fines that were not tied to their financial performance.

Turnover fines are imposed for repeated violation of the procedure for restricting access to prohibited information.

Today it is also expected to issue a turnover fine to the company Meta (social network Facebook).

Google's Russian office declined to comment.
