An employee of the Main Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was detained on suspicion of accepting a bribe in the amount of $ 3 million, REN TV reports.

The suspect was detained by FSB officers right in the building of the main investigation department.

Earlier, an employee of the administration of the Kamensky district of the Penza region was detained while trying to transfer a bribe to the vice-governor of the region. This was reported by the press service of the Regional Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

Law enforcers opened a criminal case under the article “Attempt to bribe an official personally for committing deliberately illegal actions on an especially large scale.” The official was charged. She was given a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest.

According to the investigation, on December 16, the suspect personally gave the regional vice-governor a bribe in the amount of 3 million rubles for his assistance in her victory in the competition for filling the post of head of the Kamensky district administration. At the same time, the vice-governor refused to accept a bribe. The unlawful actions of the employee were stopped by law enforcement officers. They also seized money.
