She asked to remember about the safety of children, because the risks of winter holidays "can pose a threat not only to health, but also to the life of a child." The children's ombudsman said this in an interview with RIA Novosti.

"Ahead are the New Year and Christmas holidays, school holidays - a carefree time for snowmen, elegant Christmas trees, ice skating, ice hockey and ski trips, snow fortresses and ice slides, and, of course, delicious treats in the cold. I would like to wish our children to spend them with benefits for their health and development. The main thing is not to forget about safety ", - emphasized Maria Lvova-Belova

She sees a special threat to the safety of children in New Year's firecrackers, firecrackers, sparklers and fireworks, therefore, when purchasing these entertainments, the children's ombudsman asked parents to check the certificates of conformity of their quality and not let children use these toys without adult supervision.

Separately, she asked the parents to make sure that the spontaneous slides for children's skiing are located away from roads, water or industrial facilities, and construction sites. At the same time, in her opinion, tubing is a particular danger to the safety of children - because of collisions with trees, poles and other structures, and sometimes with each other, children are often injured.

"Do not allow young children to go down the slides on their own - they fly like an uncontrollable projectile. Choose tracks equipped with special fences and airbags," Maria Lvova-Belova asked. She also asked to be attentive to the forecasts and warnings of emergency services and the Ministry of Emergencies, as well as to dress children for the weather.
