Most Russians are planning to spend the New Year holidays with their families

Russia (bbabo.net) - The majority of Russians (78%) plan to spend the New Year holidays with their families, while 69% will stay at home or in their hometown. 15% of survey participants will work on holidays. These are the results of a survey conducted by the Vox populi research company.

- Celebrating the New Year is a vivid example of a holiday that performs an important function of uniting people in a close circle, - commented Dmitry Kotov, director of data management at Vox Populi, a sociologist, on the results of the study. - The New Year remains mainly a family holiday, which is spent in a narrow circle of family and friends, being a symbol of family warmth, comfort, new hopes and plans for the future.

Holiday preferences were distributed in an interesting way. Almost 49% of respondents over 55 years old generally do not plan to engage in any activity, choosing walking, but also not forgetting about working in the country or clearing snow from private houses. About a third of the survey participants are going to go to nature, to the forest, to visit natural attractions. 17% were in favor of attending concerts, theaters, museums, exhibitions. Of those who chose cultural leisure, 45% prefer two-three-day sightseeing tours, visits to historical sites (46%), beach vacations (45%), visits to museums, exhibitions, concerts - 32%, health improvement and SPA -24%.
